Well-written example of OKRs

Well-written OKRs are specific, measurable, and time-bound.

Objective: Increase customer satisfaction with our product

  • Key Result 1: Increase the customer NPS, from 35 to 50 by the end of Q4
  • Key Result 2: Reduce the average response time for customer support inquiries from 24 hours to 12 hours by the end of Q3
  • Key Result 3: Increase customer-generated content by 25% by the end of Q3

In the example above, the objective is clear and specific, and the key results provide specific, measurable targets for the team to work towards.

Badly written examples of OKRs

On the other hand, lack specificity and clarity. For example:

Objective: Improve customer satisfaction

  • Key Result 1: Increase customer satisfaction
  • Key Result 2: Respond to customer inquiries more quickly
  • Key Result 3: Increase customer-generated content

In this example, the objective is vague and not specific, and the key results lack measurable targets. This makes it difficult for the team to understand what they are working towards and how to track their progress.

Let’s look at a few more examples
